Gear repair agents should have the following properties:
Gear repair agent should have suitable viscosity and fluidity to suit different working conditions.
gear repair agent should have good wear resistance to maintain a certain load carrying capacity.
gear repair agent should have good oxidation stability, so that the oil does not oxidize, does not stick, does not deteriorate, does not block the oil circuit.
gear repair agents should be resistant to emulsification. For gears that work in water, it is required to use a gear repair agent with good demulsibility and good oil-water separation. Because of the extreme pressure additive in the gear repair agent, the polar substance in the base oil or the oxide in the oil is a surface active substance, and when the water is mixed into the oil, the above surface active substance is emulsified.
gear repair agent should have anti-foaming properties. Good anti-foaming properties allow the air mixed into the gear repair agent to escape smoothly. Otherwise, the air bubbles in the gear repair agent cause the friction surface to be insufficiently supplied with oil to cause wear or gluing. In a circulating lubrication system, a gear repair agent with poor anti-foaming properties causes a decrease in the flow rate of the oil and a reduction in the heat dissipation effect.
gear repair agent should have rust resistance. The rust prevention property mainly has the property of protecting the gear tooth surface from rust.
gear repair agents should be corrosion resistant. Corrosion in gear repair agents is mainly derived from acidic substances in gear repair agents, which are corrosive to metals. Therefore, the gear repair agent should have good corrosion resistance.
gear repair agents should be non-toxic. Gear repairing agents are harmless to the human body and ensure the safety of operators.
