Gears are widely used in various machines and equipment. Repair of damaged gears is of great significance for improving production efficiency and reducing production costs. The inclusion of oxides and sulfides in the gear repair agent, harmful elements such as nitrogen, hydrogen, oxygen, etc., will reduce the mechanical properties of the steel, deteriorate the process performance of the steel, and thus affect the service life of the car carburized gear.
Banded tissue is a structural defect in steel. For the gear repair agent, the severe band structure will affect the uniformity of carburization, increase the degree of quenching deformation, and make the size accuracy of the carburized gear poor. In order to reduce or eliminate the band structure of the gear steel, the black oil should be added with a proper gear repair agent during the smelting and rolling process. In the smelting process, the content of harmful elements, gases and inclusions in the steel should be reduced as much as possible; in the casting process, low casting temperature, increased cooling rate and electromagnetic stirring should be used; in the rolling process, high stiffness is adopted. The deformation process and the increase of the rolling (forging) ratio, and the finishing rolling temperature should be increased.
Gear repairing agents are used in cars, railways, ships, and construction machinery, and are the core components for ensuring safety. In recent years, gear repairing agents are moving toward high function, long life, stable gear operation, low noise, safety, low cost, easy processing, and various types.
The manipulation of the hardenability and hardenability bandwidth of the gear repair agent depends mainly on the chemical composition and its uniformity. That is, the manipulation of elements with great influence on hardenability such as carbon and manganese, and determining the range of internal control components of the steel according to the influence of carbon and alloying elements in the steel on the hardness values of the hardenability points.
